BLOG / SOUND DESIGN

The part you feel.

How dialogue, music and transitions give a sequence its shape.

Keep the voice in front.

For dialogue-led work, my creative priority is a clear message. Music and effects should support the speaker, leaving space for the words that matter.

Give the cut a rhythm.

I approach sound as part of the edit. Music can connect shots, while a carefully placed accent can make a transition feel intentional. Quiet moments also have a role: constant emphasis quickly loses its impact.

Make sound and motion agree.

A graphic entrance, a cut or a change in pace creates an opportunity for sound to reinforce the movement. The aim is a coherent sequence, where the visual and audio choices support the same idea.
